"I started collecting marbles in 1991. In 1993 I observed a lamp worker making
beads on a torch. After his demonstration I asked if he could show me how to
make marbles. His experience at making marbles was restricted, but he did
give me a good working knowledge of working with soft glass. After taking
private lessons from some of the top names in the art glass industry, I
started to apply their techniques to making marbles. In 1995 I produced
a video, "The Basics of Making Marbles". The video has done very well,
and many contemporary marble makers started with the video as their first instruction.
My wife Pat has always been an active part of collecting marbles , and in 1999 she
helped develop and design our latest millefiori marble. Now I work along side
of my wife which makes my day much more pleasant.
I am the past president of the New Mexico Marble association, and a lifetime
member of the Marble Collectors Society of America. I am a member of the
International Society of Glass Beadmakers, and currently serve as the Art
Glass Director/Board of Directors of the National Marble Museum."
